highlight – 1000’s of random recordsdata (.h, .py, .res, .str, and extra) in Finder searches

To preface, I am not a developer, and I had a MacBook Professional beforehand for a few years which didn’t do that, which is why I am on the lookout for an answer.

At present, every time I search something in Finder, I’m overloaded with 1000’s of recordsdata (.h, .str, .xml, res, .py, .css – and the listing goes on) which make looking for something fully redundant as a result of I am now attempting to find what I looked for in a sea of fully irrelevant recordsdata.

I am unsure when or how my Finder began exhibiting these recordsdata, nevertheless it wasn’t after I purchased it. I additionally had a MacBook Professional 2013 and 2019 earlier than the M2 that did not do that, so clearly one thing I put in or modified made this occur.

I am not going to delete these recordsdata, clearly, however I would like some strategy to cease this taking place or take away them from search, the present detriment to my workflow is large.

They don’t seem to be hidden recordsdata both, simply to make clear. Many of those are coming from the Purposes folder and throughout the program recordsdata of a number of packages, however not all of them. I’ve tried hiding Developer recordsdata from Highlight with a spoofed Xcode app which did not work.
