Mid-Might at ALM Farm


Summer season squash are wanting perking peeking out of a row of black plastic.  We transplant the small squash from 5″ pots in by means of holes within the plastic the place we’ve dug a gap and crammed it with compost.  We water them in nicely; lay drip irrigation beneath the plastic after which cowl tehm with floating row cowl to maintain them heat and free from the cruel winds.  As soon as they’re about two ft tall and bursting on the seams, we take off the floating row cowl.  Timing for seeding them is essential to get the earliest zukes at market.
