Seeding soil blocked trays in January — ALM Natural Farm

We seeded these greens mid-January and germinated them in our germination chamber. Now they’re in an unheated greenhouse on tables ready to be put into the bottom.

That is napa cabbage that has been soil blocked.  We began it in our germination chamber.

They’re on tables in our unheated greenhouses proper now and we are going to plant it out together with the opposite seedlings within the background – tatsoi, spinach, mizuna, dill – into our unheated greenhouse in about 2-3 weeks.

If you want to study extra about soil blocking, go to this video which was made at our farm by the Sooke Area Museum
